Nira Yuval-Davis: Everyday Bordering in Postmigrant Societies

29.10.18

In this lecture Nira Yuval-Davis is examining everyday bordering as a major technology of control of diversity and discourses on diversity in post-migrant societies. Her argument is that everyday bordering has replaced multiculturalism as the hegemonic technology of control in these societies as a response to the double crisis of governability and governmentality under current neo-liberal globalisation. An intersectional dialogical epistemology will be adopted to understand the impact of everyday bordering on migrants and locals alike.
