B.A. minor in Gender Studies

The B.A. minor in Gender Studies is organized by the Cornelia Goethe Centrum and the Department of Social Sciences.

The departments of Law, Education, Psychology and Sports Science, Protestant Theology, Philosophy and History, Linguistics and Cultural Studies, and Modern Philology are also involved in the interdisciplinary program.

Gender Studies Certificate

The four-semester certificate program combines courses in the field of women's and gender studies from the disciplinary course offerings of the participating departments with additional interdisciplinary events and colloquia.

The goal of the program is to convey feminist research approaches and traditions from various disciplines, thus enabling students to look beyond their own discipline.

Career Perspectives

The Gender Studies program qualifies students for work in academia and research. In addition, competencies are acquired for a broad professional spectrum, including fields of practice in youth and adult education, communication media, public relations, publishing, political consulting, cultural work and cultural management, work in civil organizations (women's projects, NGOs) at the local, national and international level, for the development, implementation and evaluation of gender mainstreaming, as well as for work as women's and gender equality officers.
