The Small Gender Projects (since 2025: Goethe Gender Grant) have existed at Goethe University since 2008. They were coordinated by the Equal Opportunities Office and have been affiliated with the CGC since 2026.
Every year, 20,000 EUR have been made available for projects by ECR researchers in the field of gender studies, each receiving a maximum of 3,000 EUR per project from the funds of the Small Gender Projects and a maximum of 3,000 EUR from the Faculty the applicant is affiliated with (maximum 6,000 EUR in total). The Faculties have participated proportionally in the projects. Smaller empirical projects but also conferences and workshops have been fundet.
Projects from all disciplines were supported: in medicine, in the humanities and cultural sciences, and also in didactics.
The concept of the Goethe Gender Grants is currently being revised; a call for proposals is planned for summer 2026. Information will follow shortly.
